How to get the buy-in from stakeholders
Yesterday, I received a comment about the difficulties in getting the buy-in from the organization and stakeholders to introduce or improve a proper Design System.
Here are some alternative tips for gaining support from your organization and ensuring the successful implementation of a #DesignSystem:
➊ Communicate the benefits and how it will improve the business and user experience;
➋ Involve key #stakeholders throughout the design system development process to gather feedback and buy-in;
➌ Show, don't tell. Create a "prototype" of the Design System to give stakeholders and team members a clear understanding of its potential use and benefits;
➍ Make a plan to address and anticipate any concerns or objections that may arise, such as cost, time, and resource allocation;
➎ Provide training and #documentation resources to empower stakeholders and team members to use the design system effectively;
➏ Lead by example, by consistently using the design system in your own work to encourage others to do the same;
➐ Celebrate and share successes, track and communicate improvements to build momentum and encourage continued adoption.
And you, how do you get the buy-in from stakeholders and team members? Let me know in the comments below. 🤌
